North Rim Vista

Thirty minutes after sunrise, looking southwest across Grand Canyon from Bright Angel Point. During our stay the canyon was shrouded in a blue haze. Sunrise seemed to be the clearest time to show the vast distances.

The South Rim across the Canyon is ten miles away and 1,000 feet lower than our vantage point. The multicolored rock layers are a history of the ages. Grand Canyon was formed only recently, over only 5 million years, a mere blip in Geologic History.

Most of my photos were shot with a tripod at f22.
