Ira Spring Hike

Another weekend, another day of hiking. A bit of an ambitious one today. We hiked about 7 miles, I think, on the Ira Spring trail to Mason Lake. The lake wasn't that interesting of a destination. But the trail was quite awesome! It was a dusty, rocky, open trail with wildflowers blooming and views of Mt. Ranier in the distance. There were huge fields of boulders and most of the trail was out in the sunshine - which was quite a change from our usual hikes. We had a great time and sat at the summit eating our second breakfast of ham sandwiches on two rocks that were set up like a lounge staring off at the mountain. Next time we will plan to go a bit further to the summit of Bandera Mountain instead of the lake.
