Some Days

This is a view of the Firth of Forth, looking east from Marine Villa at Archerfield.

The islands are, from left to right, Fidra, Craigleith, and in the distance, Bass Rock.

There is a story that the author Robert Louis Stevenson spent time at Marine Villa while recuperating from illness. Fidra provided the inspiration for his adventure story Treasure Island.

So the story goes.

There are far fewer pirates there now.
