Forest

Went out alone this afternoon to discover a new park. I had seen just a glimpse of it on a road I drive on nearly every day...but I had a hunch there was much more I couldn't see and I was right. It slopes down a steep hill with a forest path cutting switchbacks. It's a beautifu quiet place that's hard to believe it's in the city. Unfortunately, (or fortunately? I don't know) it has become home to many homeless people who have built camps in among the trees. It's a lovely place for them to live but it made me feel a little uncomfortable to be there alone.
