Tynemouth

The priory was the end point of the 60 mile Great North Ride from Seahouses that my brother-in-law was taking part in. I tried to get this in HDR but couldn't seem to make anything good out of it all.

Pleasant morning and early afternoon perusing the market at Tynemouth station followed by a jaunt through to town to do some shopping (and hear the fans at game being played at St. James') for dinner. Made Piri-piri chicken (showed first born beautiful daughter how to joint a chicken) and a vegetable paella style rice dish using some 'Bomba Paella Rice' which was very good. The grains maintained shape much better than when one uses risotto rice.

The train back up to Edinburgh was delayed by about half an hour but it was a nice empty train but once again had no plug sockets to charge the laptop so I had to resort to reading a magazine.

Jenny came home form work in good time and with both of us having tomorrow off it got a bit messy but that 's what Bank Holidays are made for, right?
