Thistle Down

By Ethel

Ear Visions

The hammer is a tom-tom,
Sounding in our town.
A grand parade is proceeding,
With a cha...cha clown.

Building some man's castle,
With shingled heights to bear.
Proclaiming to inhabitants,
Along the thoroughfare.

That he indeed is fortunate,
To have a nailing-crew.
That works upon the roof-tops,
With hammer, saw, and screw.

Come join this glad occasion,
And let your moods comply.
Take up your staff and banner,
And joyous motions try.

In show of pomp and laughter,
Just give your mind a chance.
Catch the tom-tom-ryhthm,
And set your feet to dance.
