Well-set table

The usual routine for the beginning of the day. Our music session today was in Balbriggan, north of Dublin, and our group was six despite the location not being as easily accessible as normal. A perfect host and excellent music choices made it a highly enjoyable and successful experience.

I left the rest to enjoy their glasses of vino and made my way southside (going through the Port Tunnel, which is only an occasional experience for me) to meet Carl and head on to keep an appointment with our dear friends in Bray. We'd agreed during the week that we'd spend the evening watching movies, either on DVD or with their Apple TV. The most difficult part of the exercise had been deciding what to watch, but we finally narrowed things down. We'd been told that the invitation was on the basis of 'simple fare', which we interpreted as nibbles in front of the TV, so imagine our surprise when we got there and saw the dining table laid out with such care and thoughtfulness. We had a really yummy Chicken and Chorizo Pasta Bake, served with home-grown side salad.

We didn't even have to find our way to Bray from Carl's, as Dave insisted on picking us up. Talk about service! Movies: District 9, part of The Kids are All Right (didn't really engage us), and most of Insidious (which our hosts had already watched just a few days earlier but didn't mind being scared by again).

Time was moving on all the time, so we had to wrap things up before the third movie ran its full course. Dave called a taxi to take us back to Glasthule and so ended a terrific night with good friends. Thanks, guys.
