The crow and the blackbird

A horribly wet and windy day. When it rains non-stop like this I usually walk the spaniel in the woods rather than across the common so that we have a bit of cover. He found the crow's skull. I know its a crow because I remember seeing the dead bird three or four months ago under the same tree. I took it home to clean up and then added a blackbird skull I found in the garden last spring.

My son starts his second year at university next month but has a week's work experience with a company in Oxford this week so I'm going up there tomorrow to visit him for a few days and walk in the Chilterns while he's working. Its not an area I know at all so I hope the weather will improve.
