Bald Eagle

St Christopher

The Duomo in Barga is dedicated to S Cristoforo and a large 12th centuary wooden statue of the saint takes pride of place in the Cathedral.

During our recent holiday there we would often find some shade on the Aringo, which surrounds the Cathedral, and sit quietly reading our books while the bells from the camponile gently chimed the quarter hours away.

Again in the evenings after dinner, and usually with a delicious gelato in hand, we would once again make our way up there and look at the twinkling lights of the small villages and hamlets in the surrounding hills while listening to the music coming from one of the small piazzas below.

This stained glass window, in the porch of St Deiniol's Church Hawarden, is much closer to home.
