Sparrow

I don't like pampas grass in gardens here in Orkney because it is too redolent of suburbia, but the sparrows do seem to love the seeds. This is near Maes Howe and the seeds of the plant must have blown here. Many stalks were broken in the wind and I don't suppose there is much danger of the plant running amok in the islands.

I'm sure to be told that this isn't really pampas grass, but I am terrible at garden plant names and so stick with that name.
