Centennial Gardens and downtown Denver

Downtown today I dropped in on a former Denver Botanic Garden project. Centennial Gardens a formal garden using regionally adapted plants. Now cared for by the city of Denver, it is interesting to see what has worked and what has not with less care. Some plants and ideas continue to fulfill their orginal intent others need a refresh.

Over all it looks neglected yet inviting still. you can see a photo near by here. The cranes are visible in the distance.you can see a photo of Centennial here a year ago in April

PS ( I forgot to mention that Denver Botanic Gardens is housed at 3 locations (Main site (York Street), Chatfield in Littleton, CO, and Mt Golaith a native alpine garden at 11,500) near Mt Evans) Centennial was a 4th site given back to the City of Denver in 2009.
