Hollywood

We went to see the Hollywood photographs at the National Portrait Gallery. There were half a dozen or so superb graphic compositions (Louise Brooks especially). Interesting to see how much retouching was done.
Generally, given that they were using 10x8 cameras, had contract stars who had to do what they were told and did vast amounts of retouching, it's not surprising they looked glamourous.
I was looking to see whether they used a particular lighting set up but it seemed to be pretty random.
