The Ear Machine
For me, it looks like these are ears growing in the garden. It was my first thought and I'm sticking with it.
Another day through in the City Of Bears and working in the garden in very sticky heat. We cleared a huge pile of cuttings and took them to the community compost heap (from there they are collected and taken to a comercial composter who sells the compost back to the people who provided the raw material - good business model that).
The reward was Kaffee und Kuchen (coffee and cake). Very pleasant to sit in the sun and spend some time chatting.
I was writing an email this week to my boss and trying to explain how things were going. This is OK in English but when I have to write in German, problems can occur. I wanted to say "I'm expecting to start testing in the next few days". the verb I want for this sentence is "erwarten" but I didn't know that then. I thought I'd use gooogle translate to help. Google said start the sentence with "ich bin schwanger..."
You should google translate that to see why I was grateful I had put a lot of work into leaning vocabulary and I didn't send that to my boss.
Today's song is from Salaam Namaste - a film worth watching for the Crocodile Dundee landlord (amongst many other things).
