and we're off!

Spent the day packing my case and sorting out last minute emails.

Had booked a taxi to the station well in advance. After it was 10 minutes late, I called the company to be told it was in my street. After another 10 minutes and another more desperate call, the guy finally turned up. I made it to the airport bus with seconds to spare - not a great start to a 24 hr journey.

We then got caught up in a traffic jam on the motorway. When we were safely checked in and waiting for boarding we heard that the plane was delayed by 30 mins.

Finally settled on to the plane and ready for our long journey east.
