White Donkey

After yesterday's drive across country to Sutherland, for our week-long autumn holiday in Scourie, we opted for a car-free day today and headed over some rough, boggy but exhilarating moorland to the tiny settlement of Tarbet a few miles to the north, returning along public roads.

With stunning views all day of the sea and the mountainous landscapes of the North west, this beautiful donkey caught our hearts as we walked back, pleasantly exhausted, along the old main road (single track!) through Scourie Village up to the cabin at the top of the hill where we're staying.
