Walker Cup

Just my luck - a major golfing event at the bottom of the road, & Mrs Geek working. Granny McGeek had the 'flu, & Old Father Geek & Old Mother Geek are in NZ at the Rugby World Cup, so no baby sitters.

Still, I got to sneak in (well, stride past the disinterested Security guard) at 1630, & saw the end of the last 3 matches - more than the BBBC viewers at any rate :p

I hadn't thought of 9/11?but of course the Walker Cup is an event against our American cousins, and on this day, 10 years on, it would've been crass & insensitive not to have mentioned it. The chap who spoke did a great job- and it was a really poignant moment. (this photo was taken afterwards, by the way!).
