Bullace

The strong wind blew these wild plums off the tree down the lane today. I gathered a box full to make more jam.

I'm not sure if they are damsons or bullace, or if there is in fact any difference, anyway I love the bloom on the skins.

Plums today, jam tomorrow, pressies for Christmas. I always think it makes a nice change to take some home made goodies rather than a bottle of wine to friends over the festive season.
