Leith Windmill

With all the blustery wind out there I thought that a wind based blip might be appropriate.

I thought about swaying trees etc but I couldn't do it justice at lunchtime.

Therefore I decided to snap this windmill in Leith.

At least, when it was built by Robert Milne in 1685 it was a windmill. It had two wooden storeys above the stone base you can see now.

During the Napoleon war the wooden floors were removed and battlements added. Along with a flag pole to signal passing ships.

Now it has been converted into flats.

Lunchtime walk complete I headed back to work to duck back out of the wind.

Hope no trees are down where you are and that you are all tucked safely away from the gales.
