Suddenly the sunflower came out

Like yesterday it wasn't there and today it was; an explosion of yellow, tall stalked and swaying in the high winds, like a madman determined to be happy in the teeth of a storm. There are three of them at the bottom of the garden but this is the most magnificent.

Difficult 24 hours - a loved one in hospital following a stroke - so we are all trying to balance the many things that need balancing - work and home and caring - like the sunflower we keep on going and trying to stay bright in spite of what is trying to knock us sideways.
