Living in Brabant

Prickly character

It was such a lovely evening, so when I left work I took the long way home, looking out for interesting things to photograph.

I spotted some lovely fungi (early this year?), and then went further, and to my surprise spotted this baby hedgehog foraging next to the cycle path. It was only about 10cm long (if that), and I wonder if it'll make it through the winter, having not laid down the necessary fat needed to protect it from the cold.

Photographing this little one, I heard a rustling sound behind me, turned round and found another one, more than likely from the same litter.

I'm glad they're not alone.
