West End Fremantle. Reputedly the best preserved example of 19th century heritage and colonial architecture. There might be a few of us in Freo who disagree with the "best" however it is still a great place to live amongst largely low rise buildings with character and history. The West End is significantly owned and occupied by Notre Dame University so the old is traversed by the young from many nations every day
