Geese on the move again

The geese are writing their travel tales across the sky again and bringing it to our attention with their song, such as it is.

The Robin and Wren were happy to be seen today too and busily ate at the elderberries.
The field across the road has been shorn all except for one defiant dock leaf standing tall and strong amidst the stubble.

Whate'er may be the weather 'tis splendid to him
Come sunshine or rain it is certain to plea...se
What's bad for the hay is just right for the peas.

He sows in such good humour he reaps only smiles
With song so light and merry the hour he beguiles
And since all the lads would keep time to his tu...ne
When there's work to be done it gets done pretty soon.

There may be another verse which I can't quite think of at the moment, but I know you're all glad there's no more just now.
