Brogues

Because Mary tells me you cannot go wrong with brogues. And Mary is the primary consultant in all matters of good taste. I got these yesterday from a charity shop in Otley, I forget which one. I love these shoes. They are solid and workmanlike, a little heavy and a little out of date. Much like me, of course.
