Brown's Clix

Whatever happened to joined up writing?

I recently received a package from USA.

Admittedly there was a typed address on it, but I'm pretty sure that that was only used by our local postman making the delivery. All of the rest of the package's journey by road and air would probably have been controlled a machine "reading" differing widths of successive black and white stripes that we have come to know as bar codes.

I'm all for progress, but we do seem to have lost something along the way from the not too long ago days when an address might have been written in someone's fair hand ... or is my age showing again!

Remember sealing wax???
