Bully Bee

I was trying to get a shot of the butterfly sipping nectar from the plum blossom when suddenly a honey bee zoomed in and knocked it off! Here is the poor butterfly, reeling in mid air, while the bee stakes its claim on the blossom. Not a great photo, but I like the drama.

The butterfly is a Yellow Admiral, Vanessa itea, self introduced into New Zealand, and the reason why I nurture stinging nettles in my garden.
