Breakfast...

Busy day ahead of me...quick Blip...decided to photograph my breakfast. Quinoa, kiwifruit, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, citron honey, with a dash of cinnamon. This should keep me going for a few hours!

*Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a gluten free protein seed that has a fluffy, creamy, crunchy, and nutty flavor when cooked. Most people think it's a grain - but its actually a relative of the spinach and beets. Its considered a "complete protein" meaning that it includes all nine essential amino acids.

*Quinoa is quite beneficial to those who suffer from migraines - being rich in magnesium, it helps relax the blood vessels, preventing the constriction and dilation characteristics of migraines.

*Quinoa is very simple to prepare - simply wash and cook one part seed to two parts water. I eat it for breakfast (instead of oatmeal), add it to soups, even as a side dish.
