A class of our own my love

It was a day of celebrations.

Starting off in Browns for a day of champagne and a 3 course dinner finished with some coffees and more champagne.

It was then off to Boudoir for some wine and strawberry cider before deciding to walk out to Barrowlands to see if we could get some Stinky Pete (Pete Doherty) tickets.

The main reason we decided to head along to this gig was Pete was actually Jill and I's first ever date all those years ago.

We managed to haggle the tout down from £40 per ticket to £40 for the pair which was face value (so not so bad).

(The great worst great worst great/worst thing about Barrowlands is that it feels like it could kick off at any time into a full blown riot, especially if you go and see someone like Pete. This time however it didn't).

It was a great gig as usual (I've heard him do better sets) but he knows how to work the crowd.

He threw in a few cover versions " Build me up buttercup", "Tears dry on their own" and "twist and shout".

As well as the Amy Winehouse cover he also dedicated "Time for Heroes" to her by singing Rest in peace Amy and finishing the song with:

"We will die in the class we were born,
and that's a class of our own my love"

It was a great gig and a perfect and fitting end to one of the best days ever!
