Natural History Museum

After watching Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes we set off for the Natural History Museum, first we went to look at all the rocks, minerals and crystals and went into the vault where we saw the largest gold nugget ever mined and the largest meteorite, a piece of mars and of the moon and lots of beautiful cut gems, on the way we went past Charles Darwin and an exhibit on monkeys, then we went downstairs to see the model of the Blue Whale, just immesnse, there are life size models and stuffed animals too... Elephants, Hippos, Rhinos, mountain Goats, loads of different types of deer, Gnu's etc etc... brilliant, also all the marine life exhibits are fab too!
We love it there, so lucky to live so close, I adore the building, I think I'm right in saying that it is the first purpose built museum in the World and everywhere you look you can see animals and plants built into the brickwork and door frames and stained Glass, stunning!
Back home now and Mr Ellis has just returned from surfing looking tired and wearing a lumberjack shirt!
Horribly excited that Downton Abbey Series 2 starts tonight!!!!!
