Waxcaps

The spaniel has been quite unwell. We had a late night trip to the vets and I woke up early this morning still fully clothed on the sofa. As a result we didn't have our usual run on the common but a slightly more sedate walk on the lead in the National Trust's East Park - an area of acid grassland next to Sheffield Park Gardens. That's where I found a handful of these waxcaps. I think they are called 'persistent' waxcaps, but they could be the 'Blackening' waxcap which looks very similar initially before turning black. If I get the chance I'll re-visit them to see if they've gone black or if they've 'persisted'.
