Olympic guardian

Surely anyone who thought the Olympics was about sporting endeavour and olympic ideals and the regeneration of the area has had their hopes well and truly squashed now.

Sprawling like an overblown and overweight slug in front of the Olympic Park, Westfield has now assumed control of the whole area.

God knows what will happen to Stratford now, presumably all other shops will close - why would you need them when there's such a perfect alternative.

Getting on a train at Stratford is worse than ever, the platforms thronged with shoppers with glazed eyes and with bags dangling from their hands like so many up market bag ladies.

Regeneration ...... more like colonisation.

And the only way you can get to the Olympic Park will be through the shopping centre. So not worshipping Mammon at all then
