Autumnal melee

Autumn really has arrived and the wasps are making the best of the rotten crab apples followed by the Red Admirals who syphon up the sweetness out of holes the wasps have left.

The Red Admiral was originally called the Admirable, or the Alderman, because its wings resembled the colours of the clothes noblemen or dignitaries wore in the 18C.

I heard on the radio today that we may be getting snow next month!!!
