Nancy Guy

Nancy Guy is the name given to a statue on the wall of the Blue House (formerly the Bluecoat School and Almshouses) in Frome. She represents the almshouse.

Another statue, Billy Ball, represents the boys' school. The boys wore blue coats.

The present building dates from 1726 and is believed to be the third almshouse on the site. Its role as a school ceased in 1921, and it now provides studio and one bedroom flats for 17 elderly residents.
