bird weird

ok, so the weirdest thing happened. i downloaded today's (22 Sept 2011) photos from my camera, and got about a dozen shots from long long ago suddenly show up. where were they hiding on the data card? makes me wonder about all the other photos i may be missing?? i am downloading and seeing this photo for the first time, over 6 months later. This bird was at the edge of a 'pond' on an Arizona golf course. It is a heron of some kind, no?
