Beauty and the beast

The handsome beast on the right is a pot-bellied pig. We hadn't gone far on our Friday morning walk when we spotted him in a field with several goats and sheep. He couldn't wait to head our way to see if we had any food. Apparently pot-bellied pigs originated in Vietnam.

The pig was set to be my blip of the day but then a red admiral decided to pay a visit to the Aster frikartii in my garden. He's looking a bit worse for wear as it is late in the season but there's no denying he's infinitely more beautiful than the pig.

For the record: The Friday walk took place in perfect weather - sunny spells and a temperature of around 18C.
