Saturday snuggles

23months 3days

Since the play cafe closed, our usual Saturday morning routine has been had a revamp. We today opted, almost by accident (or more, by lack of getting dressed!) to have a morning at home, before swimming. Katie was on an eating mission, I'm trying to finish her Year2 photobook whilst there's a half price offer, she was attempting to get out every toy she owned. It was fun!

We left in time for her to sleep before swimming. I'm not doing it again. She woke up grotty and unamused. She was very less than impressed that not only was she not allowed to take a cuddly toy into the swimming pool but she also wasn't allowed to swim in her wellies. Such a mean mummy, aren't I!? Her class is later this block of lessons, and its not working for us - either I have to keep her awake and she's shattered, or I let her sleep and have to wake her up, not her favourite plan. Her teacher's said our normal time isnt actually full despite it being officially booked as full so we can come then, on the hope of a space. Think it'll help.

We had a really fab afternoon. Sarah, the teacher, has 2 cats and a few times has invited us to go for lunch and let Katie see the cats. Today, we took her up on the offer and had a lovely time. Her cat was literally eating kibble out the palm of Katie's hand, which he's never done. Katie played with a pack of plasticine for ages, and one of Sarah's big teddies (about which Katie kept saying "it's nice, gorgeous teddy") but her favourite toys were the basket full of cat toys. It was nice to chat, without Katie attempting to swim across the pool! The funniest thing of the afternoon though was Katie's repeated insistance that Sarah's print of a David Hockney painting of Sledmere is in fact Wiggle World.
