Le Fairy Ring de la Fire Hydrant

This scene this morning made me turn around and snap a blip.

A perfect little fairy ring around this fire hydrant.

We have had several inches (or so it has felt) over the past two days.
These fungi are up in almost every yard, but this one was in such a definite half moon shape around the olde fire plug that I had a chuckle. And that background , with the fire engine sitting out in the driveway so ready to dash off, I could not resist taking this shot.

Plus, something I hadn't realized before, is that blue box around the fire hydrant is a cash box. A place where you can drop your monthly utility payment. How handy, don't you think?
The words "NO CASH" can be read from the street.
