HANGING BY A THREAD

Taken from outside my back gate this morning, this flock of pigeons is probably from a loft on the nearby allotments. They've survived to fly another day despite the scumbags who regularly target the allotments and burn down pigeon lofts and any other sheds where people are keeping livestock - which leads to distressing photos in the local paper. While I was attempting (and failing) to get a sharper shot of the birds, it occurred to me that my livelihood depends on the continued well-being of this telephone pole. Dear me!
It's no less precarious if you go large.
