An inspiring woman

A tribute, to Wangari Muta Maathai, who died today.

She was a Kenyan environmental and political activist, who in 2004 became the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for 'her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace'. Her influence has changed the landscape and livlihoods of many in Kenya.

And her life has inspired me since I devoured her biography whilst traveling in East Africa several years ago.
