Painting the House

I don't get colds. Other people get colds. Men get colds that turn into Manflu, but I never succumb- well rarely, but today seems to be an exception.
I put it down to air travel and the sharing of foreign viruses.

It started as a scratchy throat and a nasal drip last night which needed enough handling of hankies as to draw the attention of his Lordship. Within a twinkling of an eye, he had also developed a sore throat and a shivery back.
Never underestimate the powers of auto suggestion.

Now while I am feeling well, but with a nose intent on demolishing a box of tissues, his Lordship is decidedly under the weather with a sore throat and the shivers.

The outing to foreign parts has been postponed in favour of a stroll round the canal and a coffee in the old funeral director's building. This somehow feels most appropriate for our health today.

This man was taking advantage of the fine weather to titivate his house boat on the canal.
