Nesssaintee's World

Early Thursday morning and the Seven Sisters

The Pleiades star cluster in Taurus is often referred to as the seven sisters as, under good conditions a normal sighted person can make out seven individual stars
With a telescope or binoculars, many more can be seen
It is estimated that around 200 stars make up this cluster
The Pleiades are around 400 light years away
So the light that you can see from them has taken 400 years to reach us.
Wonder what was happening on our world in 1611 when these photons started their journey
