Ben

Ben is 12. (but doesn't know it.)

He's a cross between an Irish wolfhound and who knows what.
The most frequent comment made by people trying to guess his origin being "is he a deerhound?" To be fair this is a reasonable statement as he has many similarities there.

We got Ben as an 18month old rescue in Perth. He hadn't been abused or neglected. In fact he had been brought up beautifully and was completely socialised. Unless you were a sheep.
That was and still is, his problem. As a result of a sheep worrying incident before we got him his previous owners were given the option of rehoming him out of the area or having him shot. Thankfully they took the humane option.
It must have been very hard for them as it was clear from his nature that he was a well looked after and loved dog.
Other than having to keep him on a lead when we are walking near sheep he is the easiest dog to live with.

He is slightly larger than a german shephard but thinks he is a small dog.

Despite his size he is bullied by all three of our cats but gets his revenge by stealing all of their food at every opportunity.

We love him dearly.

NB.
Yes that is a scout neckerchief he is wearing. He has always worn a scarf of some kind and most recently has aquired one of my sons Blair Atholl satellite camp (2008) scarfs.
