empty landscape

It's difficult sometimes picking subjects to photograph.

Up here it can be a very empty landscape, with lots of old abandoned houses. Historically it seems that its more cost effective to build new rather than update old buildings, and many of them have been empty for a very, very long time.

So...over to Lybster again today and I stopped to take this photo in a layby. In the distance is an abandoned farm, which often picks up the light in an amazing way, and in the middle distance is what looks to be a heap of stones. In reality it's likely to be whats left of a dismantled barn or sheep pen.

When I have the time and work is less frantic I may take a drive out to the west of the county...this is over to the east coast, as there are some lovely old abandoned buildings out that way too.
