Sunbeams

All is well

Today was the day we had all been working towards - Auntie's funeral. N, out of hospital, was able to go too and so T drove us down once again across Dartmoor. We and all her friends gave her a good send off, N's brother unexpectedly turned up, refreshments at the local moorland hotel, and a fantastic drive home.

The moor was looking magical in the golden light from the setting sun. A day to remember because although sad it was filled with sunlight which seem to permeate everyone and everything. We stopped again at Combestone Tor and this is the view the other way towards the great empty space over the hills which forms the centre. The silence, except for the odd sheep, was noticeable and the cooler fresh air smell scented with the damp peat nearby made this a special memory.

After an exhausting day, J, T's friend from Cornwall arrived. He is staying the week-end here to help again with the fieldwork.
