Pregnant!

A photo from the morning dive, this time with Ralf. He found this little arrowhead crab in a hole. We'd seen a few already, so we couldn't work out why he was so excited... I took a picture anyway, and when we got back he told us that the thing it is holding in its claw (which I assumed was food of some sort) was in fact an egg case. Apparently arrowhead crabs wrap their eggs up and carry them around! Obviously we had never seen this before, but Ralf hadn't either - hence he was so excited. So in a sense, this is a pregnant crab...

My wife always says that one of the nice things about diving is that you meet grown men who will get excited about seeing a fish - she finds this a very endearing quality!
