The Cat that Walked by Herself.

We went to the park for what must surely be our last after school picnic this year and I took this shot of Betsy walking through the trees. Though I know all she is really thinking about is what flavour of icecream to choose, I find this picture quite moving. Parents always say their children are 'growing up so fast' but that isn't what moves me about this image. It is that at ten, Betsy very similar to how she has been since a toddler - fierce, independent, pushing forward and walking ahead. She's always been that way and I've always loved it.
