The Islington Tunnel on the Regents Canal

This entrance to the canal tunnel is at the Angel in Islington London. It was built between 1815 and 1818 with the finished length being 960yds/886metres and it was designed by engineer James Morgan.

I have been through this tunnel a number of times on a narrow boat taking groups of children from a youth club where a worked - great fun but very, very dark!!
