Teaspoon fruits

In the early 1960s we learned about pomegranate and kiwi. My mum, who always invented smooth names for what we'd never seen or tasted before, called those fruits 'teaspoon fruits', because you could eat them with a teaspoon.

I think that's the most important explanation we ate them, because I remember the kiwi as unprecedentedly sour and the pomegranate as bitter ... ;))
