Buckley Hughes World

So, many of the houses in the old town in Vejer are built around a cental courtyard, which is where most of the family life happens. The town has over 300 days of sunshine a year (just like worcestershire... ish) and mighty strong winds, so the courtyard is a shaded, wind-proof outdoor room. Beautiful.

We had dinner in the courtyard of a really lovely hotel the other night - gorgeous food and a stunning setting - they'd done it all lovely, with water features, candles on the tables, subtle twinkly lights in trees, underlit arches, exposed brickwork etc. Truly magical. And the sort of magical that doesn't come out well in photos, so you'll have to take my word for it!
