My youngest daughter enjoying Charlie And The Chocolate Factory as much as her sisters did. And as much as I did before them.

The appeal of Dahl's writing is timeless.

But it does highlight the effect of inflation. Charlie finds 50 pence in the street and buys two chocolate bars, having convinced himself that his mother would still be able to afford a meal for seven from the change.
