Repent, Harlequin!

Bubo bubo

Taken at Dunrobin Castle, Golspie, KW10 6SF. This is a European Eagle-owl (latin name Bubo bubo, something I wouldn't normally care about or mention, but this one is cool), which was flying around at the falconry show in the castle gardens on a very sunny, then very wet, morning. This was the only decent shot I got as the other 2 birds on display moved way too quickly; I was only able to get this shot as the owl had gulped down 3 dead chicks and was having a rest. The wingspan on this thing was crazy big, something in the region of 80 inches, and it was completely silent when in flight.
